It was about what I've come to expect from the W bros: standard. The storyline was standard, the acting was standard, the characters were standard, the dialogue was standard, the direction was standard...it was really just a conventional action film, with an uninteresting musical score, phony philosophical posturing, and political ideas and messages which have been simplified for mass viewing and consumption.

It's essentially like a watered-down 1984, except not as literary or intelligent.

As far as great political films go, I'll stick with I am Cuba (1964), Nashville (1975), Weekend (1967), Dr. Strangelove (1964) and Battle of Algiers (1965). In other words, true cinematic art.

Awesome adaptation. Anybody who complains that the filmmakers produced a thinly veiled propaganda flick about Bush Jr. has never read the source material (which is a thinly veiled propaganda novel about Thatcher). The only complaint is the "depth" they sought to bring to the character of Evey. V and Evey DO NOT fall in love. Aside from that glaring mishap, the only way it could have been better is to release an 8 hour version with all the extra stuff. *sigh* I'm sure I'll get that packaged with my Watchmen movie...

It is a very brilliant and awesome movie! I watched it this yr with my b/f (:
I say it is the best movie i watched so far! After the movie i feel agitated and high in mood.. The scene in the movie still lingering in my mind. It gives a lot of thinkings and pondering.. I was speechless and overwhelmed after the show, kinda shocked inside - the LOVE bwteen this 2 people is too grand!
The setting and plot of the movie is also artistic; The song inside is also so romantic. Yup love the movie a lot ^ ^ And hope there will be more this kind of wonderful and powerful type of movie in the future!

I felt the movie dealt with a lot of issues that were relevant in today's world & that it was an intellectual movie not just regular popcorn fare.
The part where Stephen Fry's character who played Evey's boss (Natalie Portman) was brought in by the police for having a Q'uran (a Muslim version of the Bible) in his possession; was to appreciate its beauty without having to conform into the religion to understand it.
Overall, it's a futuristic thriller set in a fantasy sci-fi tone on one man's quest to break free from an opressive Government. Good movie all round.

Great movie and great idea. Our government is the biggest threat to us. It doen'st matter, although the ACLU is looking hard, there have been no violations found to have happened through the patriot act, gov wire tapping, etc... Whoever thinks that the terrorists are the threat is way off.

I really liked it, but in the end i was very disappointed that he did not unmask himself.. but then i remembered star wars and when darth vador unmasked and it ruined everything... so i went online and found out that V was the same actor from the matrix Agent Smtih... and that was kind of cool because he also plays liv tylers elf dad on lord of the rings.

John Hurt was great as the 1984 villian,Natalie was good as Evey. Why she was incarcerated by V made no sense to me.All that time in V's prison just to teach her a parable.
V was a caring,sharing murdering terrorist,wasn't he?

great movie. Make you think, makes you hope, makes you wonder. It combines great action with an intense story. The humor is few and far between but very good. Makes you want to know more about the back story. Great ending.

The acting was great in that movie and I really enjoyed it. I would have liked to see his face but then thats what made it so mysterious as well. It was worth watching.
