Tell them that you want a life other than slaving over them. You can't spend your life cooped up in your room and working. You need a social life and get out. Tell them that..They should respect that and if they don't, they aren't acting like real parents. No offense!!

What kind of friends do you have? Are they respectful? Or is there good reason for your parents to cringe that your not being honest about with them or yourself. I'm not trying to take sides, but understand what's up. Some people get along just swell with little tykes, but don't have a clue when they start expanding boundaries and growing up and want to make decisions for them selves. Maybe you can start by setting up a period every week where you spend time with friends...and your parents can use this time to see if you'll keep your promise and keep that time honorably. If so, maybe they can feel more open to extending that period more.

Why won;t they let you see your friend on week days when you are NOT at work. Ask them that. They must have a reason. If they do not have a reasonable reason tell them. How old are you? Are they just trying to protect you? At least they let you out on weekends... I know kids who have to work 7 days a week help their parents business and don't get to go out at all

I don't know how old you are, but trust me, I had a really tough time growing up and looking back now (I am in my 20s) it goes by so fast! If there is one thing I can say - I wish I just enjoyed the life I had and worked harder in school....I know that sounds really stupid, but, trust me, I know! Take advanatage of ALL of the positives you have going for you....
make sense????

talk to your parents. it is the only way how to change it. If you do not talk to them well you are going to spend your pre-teen life or life without happiness. So go tell them.
