A Greek philosopher (I forget his name) once said that as a society grows away from Nature, the Arts arise to remind us of what we've lost.

I think that the arts reflect what a society is experiencing at a certain point in time as well as what it values. Arts can "make" comments about current events/issues. Societies where the arts are lacking or not valued do not put much emphasis on human creativity.

Interesting question... so I offer you this simple answer... Modern Art.... very confusing... very annoying.... very sicking....Modern Society.....very confusing....very annoying....very sicking.... of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
