Every bike I am aware of is a manual trans. They are not hard to learn to use. The left foot is the shifter. The left lever on the handle bar is the clutch. That is most of them. There are some variences from different makers especially w/ older bikes. As far as those little scooters (not real motorcycles) who knows. I wouldn't own one.

chain drive: Popular on higher performance applications and easier for an individual to maintain.

Belt drive: quiet and dependable a good in between chain and shaft drive.

Shaft Drive: Long lasting but shaft drive has the "shaft effect" what that means is you have to be careful with throttle changes on a shaft drive as it can effect your rear suspension. Which can be unsettling or even dangerous depending on the circumstances.

Now about 99.9% of all bikes are manual transmissions. There are still some old Honda's floating around that were auto's but they didn't sell very well.

Also most street bikes from @ 1980 on are electric start.

All street bikes are manual (this does not include scooters) and are electronic start. Don't get Dual sports confused with street bikes even though they are street legal they are not catagorized as street bikes and may have kick starts. Most sportbikes are chain drive with the exception of a few that are belt driven such as a few buells (to name one). Cruisers are manual w/ electric start but mostly shaft or belt driven (few chain). Dirt bikes on the otherhand are kick start and chain driven. Most are are manual, However a few are automatic (like the 50cc and maybe a few others) for kids.

You probably should not get a motorcycle if you even have to ask. There are a couple of very rare exceptions, but %99.9 of motorcycles are manual w/ clutch. Scooters and mopeds usually do not require shifting
