I don't think Windows 98 has firewalls in it. You have to get them separate. I am pretty sure 98 doesn't have a Firewall because not even Windows XP SP1 had it.
Try to get one before it's too late :)

Hello, windows 98 DOES NOT HAVE A FIREWALL. you need to get windows xp. Then you will have a firewall. My god you need to take your computer out back and shoot it. It is past its life. Now it is time to put it down. It lived its life now it is time to send it to heaven dont be afraid. You can get a better computer. with better software. so just go shoot your other computer and get it over with.

yes my windows xp firewall i can access from the windows security alerts icon in the taksback
i can also see my other 2 firewall's in the taskbar as there no from windows xp i install them ,u self as for windows 98 that did not come with a windows 98 firewall you have to download one from the internet you put in the search box on internet explore free firewall and your have a list to look at

windows 98 or bbelow that does not have a firewall what so ever
if you have one it is a thrid party firewall if it is through verizon try typing http://dslrouter I think the both default input s are adman
unless you changed it if it is another company's firewall well then your on your own But Good Luck!
