You probably mean 'magazine' (LOTS of adults get confused between the two!) -since it IS under that!
Where I live- 'DOLLY' and 'Girlfriend' (but some articles might be very offensive or a bit too much for them just yet), 'TotalGirl'/'Girl Power'/'Disney Girl.'
But I reckon any girl of any age cna enjoy these little interesting treats! The last three have more pages and interviews and less ads that the first two and any others, come with freebies (purses, lipglosses, anything good bargain!) and are fairly cheaper!

T.S Hinton's The Outsiders
Possibly one of the best books ever written and it was written by a 14 year old girl......it really does embody all that teens go through at that age ... and afterwards you can watch the movie with some of hollywoods heavy weights in it

The Giver by Lois Lawry
I've read this book every year since 7th grade (im 20 now)! I never seem to get tired of it...it's great thought provoking story!
also any books in the 'GOSSIP GIRLS" series by Cecily Von Ziegesar

Ode to Billy Joe (an old book but a good one) may be a little mature check with parents. I read it when I was 13/14 no problems.

I am a small town girl and when i say this i think i am bringing it out judy bloom is so five years ago.
when i say that i mean five years ago like when you were little you read judy bloom now it's how to kill a mocking bird or those big nation terriost books anyway no way pick harry potter i hate those they just creep me out!! well i guess it is your choice and i didn't really give you a choice now did i? well lol

You should read Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card, It is just a good book.
