i have been watching America's got Talent & i think the quick change artists are awesome. but how do they do it? i read some stuff about it but still dont get it all the way. by the way who else watched this show?

The girl has one outfit that gathers at the waist and if you look at her shoulders the straps get narrower each time she appears to change. It is like she is wearing a calander. At the end of the act all her outfits are under her skirt and her straps are spaghetti string style.

I watch the show and love it. If the quick change artist "peal" off their layers where do they go? For example, when they use the long shear piece of fabric. You would be able to see the layer they remove, right?

They wear layers of clothes so they can take one off and reveal a brand new outfit. Usually the clothes they take off fall to the ground and get covered by a screen or something they change behind. I have seen them on quite a few other talent shows. It's that simple.
