i run windows 98,and would like to know how to open a pdf file.help anyone?

when i try to open a pdf file, a box comes up for me to type something.I don't know what to type in.Also how to i know if i have adobe reader on my computer.Thanks gfor your help.

If you had a properly installed Adobe Acrobat Reader, it probably wouldn't be prompting you. Try visiting http://www.adobe.com/ and downloading Acrobat Reader. I'll warn you though - Windows 98 is *very* old, and it may be hard finding a version that will run on Win98.
