My baby is 3 months old.
She is taking breastmilk only.
My doctor told us to use the 1% but we think it's not good to put so much medication on her since she's too young! (the rash has been on and off for 2 months!)

How old is the baby and what is causing the rash? Did you check with the pediatrician before using the hydrocortizone?

Thanks for the additional info. Have you tried changing your diet? Some foods that you eat can cause sensitivities in a breastfed baby. The baby is in NO WAY allergic to your milk but possibly something that you are eating - usually dairy products.

Well it depends on what has caused the nappy rash. If it was sitting in the nappy too long, then you are better off putting an emollient cream on your babies butt like bepanthen or papaw ointment, it is thicker and will stay longer and will rehydrate the skin better. If it is due to a reaction of the nappy then a cortisone cream will help heal it better. If it is a rash from teething, use anything that helps. Some people swear by corn starch, others by an antiseptic rash cream. You might just have to try a few different ones and see what helps. What ever you use (apart from the cortisone cream, use sparingly) put it on THICK, so you can't see skin, this can help clear it up quicker, once you have made a dent in the rash where is isn't so red or nasty looking, you can put a light smear on your babies butt.

We had the same thing. Tried all kinds of creams and stuff. Doctor assumed that its an allergy but we did not know what was causing it. My mom suggested to change the baby formula. It helped. My son's skin is clear since then.
According to my mom, face rash can only be caused by food allergy.

Have you tried using Desitin ? I used that on my daughters when they got red chapped cheeks and overnight it would go away.. I am a firm believer of Destin... both my daughters had Eczema too so I had to treat that too.

You didn't describe the rash so I provided a few links that may help..
