A fertility specialist can do a series of blood tests as well as a transvaginal ultrasound (to check your ovaries). The bloodwork will let you know if you have higher levels of hormones such as testosterone which might make it harder for you to concieve. The fertility specialist can also test the man's sperm count and motility. Talk to your OB/GYN or General Practitioner and they can point you in the right direction.

How long have you been TTC?

Couples are generally advised to seek medical help if they are unable to achieve pregnancy after a year of unprotected intercourse. The doctor will conduct a physical examination of both partners to determine their general state of health and to evaluate physical disorders that may be causing infertility. Usually both partners are interviewed about their sexual habits in order to determine whether intercourse is taking place properly for conception.

If no cause can be determined at this point, more specific tests may be recommended. For women, these include an analysis of body temperature and ovulation, x-ray of the fallopian tubes and uterus, and laparoscopy. For men, initial tests focus on semen analysis.

The FertilMARQ Home Diagnostic Screening Test Kit offers privacy and helps you avoid the embarrassment of masturbation at the doctors office. In addition, concentration is one of the most critical determinants of male infertility, as defined by the World Health Organization. As a screening test, it offers useful information to both yourself and your physician to help diagnose male infertility. In comparison, ovulation tests (that measure hormonal surges) do not necessarily guarantee fertility either, yet the test is a very useful indicator.

My Doctor told me to have sexual relations with my husband every day for thirty days straight. Didn't think my husband would go for it so I had my Doctor put it in writing. He wrote a prescription for it and I gave it to my husband. My Doc said try this before we began any infertility tests or treatments. We didn't make it to the end of the month as I was pregnant by week 3. The 'prescription' lives in our daughter's baby book. Best prescription I ever had to fill. Try that test and see what happens.

There is a test that the Dr can have done on you.
Its called a Hystrosopogram( I'm sure the spelling is wrong but you pronounce it....Hist-tree-oh-sopy-a-gram.).
They dialate your curvix and shoot dye in to your tubes and you can watch in on a tv monitor...they check for any blockages and to make sure everything is in tact.
Your man needs to go to a Mans Dr. he will have him donate some sperm and it will be tested to see what his sperm count is. and check him to make sure he is ok...
