Passmark test is one of the best there is. It will evaluate tons of individual aspects of your computer, show its overall rating, and then compare that to any or all other computers you want on the market. You can download a free demo to use.

You can try using a benchmarking software program. There are several excellent programs, some free to download. Surf over to
http://www.filehippo.com/software/benchmark/
I recommend using Sandra Lite 2007. I use it myself. You can benchmark almost any component on your PC. 3DMark is also a good choice but it is more geared towards gaming.
I have included the software maker's description of Sandra Lite:
SiSoftware Sandra (the System ANalyser, Diagnostic and Reporting Assistant) is an information & diagnostic utility. It should provide most of the information (including undocumented) you need to know about your hardware, software and other devices whether hardware or software.
It works along the lines of other Windows utilities, however it tries to go beyond them and show you more of what's really going on. Giving the user the ability to draw comparisons at both a high and low-level. You can get information about the CPU, chipset, video adapter, ports, printers, sound card, memory, network, Windows internals, AGP, PCI, PCIe, ODBC Connections, USB2, 1394/Firewire, etc.
Native Unicode ports for 32-bit Windows (2000/XP/2003), 64-bit & x64 Windows (XP/2003) as well as Windows CE (Pocket PC 2002/2003/2003SE, Smart Phone 2002/2003/2003SE, CE .Net 4.20) are available.

Here's what I want you to do...
Click on this and go to the site..PCPitstop.
http://pcpitstop.com/
Register, and then follow the directions which will take your computer through their on-line diagnostics.
I've been using them for years and you will get all the feedback you need to determine the health of your computer and whether you have any performance issues (and you WILL the first time you go through...then pretty soon after following the advice you'll start getting the message "Congratulations, we could find nothing wrong with your computer at this time") along with tips to help you solve problems it might find.
The site WILL leave cookies so that it can maintain your "Test History" so you can compare older tests to your new tests. It will NOT leave any Malware, Spyware, Trojans, Ads, etc.
Also, their Forums are terrific. You can get expert help from those who know what they are talking about when it comes to computers, security, hardware, Internet, etc. etc.
Have fun!

Here's the link to PCPitshop. I really like them for a quick check of how my computer is doing. You can find all sorts of other programs that will run your computer ragged but this is a good start. If you want to go further check out any computer hardware review site and look at the programs that they use to test CPUs, memory, and video cards. Have fun. No matter what the result is you will suddenly decide that you need MORE of something. :)

You might be looking for BENCHMARK programs.
http://anandtech.com or http://tomshardwareguide.com
or, search google for 'benchmark'.
I use the LiveCDrom of Linux, and it grades the system in "bogomips" for initial WAG of overall processing speed. But, Linux runs about 50X faster than Microsoft ever thought of, and the speeds of systems in Linux aren't relevant to most 'benchmark' test results, so, don't compare them! (PCGamingMag. Fall 2004).
