I'm trying to enter a poem contest and i'm not sure what "maximum of 60 characters per line" means? any help!

60 characters means like letters the word "hello" is 5 characters. so 4 every line, it can only be 60 characters

Characters include not only letters but spaces and punctuation like periods,commas, semicolons, and exclamation points.. With computers all characters are counted in the line. Good luck with your poem.

every letter and space is a character.......you can use 60 on one line.

actually, it means 60 letters, numbers, symbols, or spaces. symbols, spaces, numbers and letters are all characters
