Celine is properly pronounced "sail - ing" it is french.
Even if you pronounced it phonetically - "sell - ine" ther would be on "r" sound in it.
Caroline is pronounced properly "car - o- line" not "car-o-lie" !!!

So where's the R is Celine?
I have never heard of "Cer-lean" Dion? Have you?
Why is the N missing in Caroline?
Ever heard of "Caro-lie" Kennedy? Not me.

Because the "i" sound in Caroline is a long "i" vowel sound. The i in Celine is a short vowel sound.
