Seeings you've asked for unknown bands, I thought you may not have heard of The Butterfly Effect, but you should at least have a listen. They are a great, hard-working band from Brisbane (Queensland, Australia) Fantastic live performances!
Go to their site http://www.thebutterflyeffect.com.au/ and once you enter you'll be able to hear samples of their new album and also watch the video to their new single "A Slow Descent". Also visit their myspace page from there for more info and songs.
Hope you enjoy

Green Day, Simple Plan, Fall Out Boy, AFI, Yellowcard, My Chemical Romance, Relient K, and Weezer. I reccomend all of them! even older material such as Green Day's Dookie album, which is a multi-platinum album and tops every album in the 90's. Weezer also had great songs in the 90's. I especially like their hit song, "Buddy Holly".
