Satan called a worldwide convention of demons.
In his opening address he said, "We can't keep Christians from going to church. We can't keep them from reading their Bibles and knowing the truth. We can't even keep them from forming an intimate relationship with their savior."
"Once they gain that connection with Jesus, our power over them is broken."
"So let them go to their churches; let them have their covered dish dinners, BUT steal their time, so they don't have time to develop a relationship with Jesus Christ."
"This is what I want you to do," said the devil:
"Distract them from gaining hold of their Savior and maintaining that vital connection throughout their day!"
"How shall we do this?" his demons shouted.
"Keep them busy in the non-essentials of life and invent innumerable schemes to occupy their minds," he answered.
"Tempt them to spend, spend, spend, and borrow, borrow, borrow.”
"Persuade the wives to go to work for long hours and the husbands to work 6-7 days each week, 10-12 hours a day, so they can afford their empty lifestyles."
"Keep them from spending time with their children."
"As their families fragment, soon, their homes will offer no escape from the pressures of work!"
"Over-stimulate their minds so that they cannot hear that still, small voice."
"Entice them to keep the TV, VCR, CDs and their PCs going constantly in their home and see to it that every store and restaurant in the world plays non-biblical music constantly."
"This will jam their minds and break that union with Christ."
"Fill the coffee tables with magazines and newspapers."
"Pound their minds with the news 24 hours a day."
"Invade their driving moments with billboards."
"Flood their mailboxes with junk mail, mail order catalogs, sweepstakes, and every kind of newsletter and promotional offering free products, services and false hopes."
"Keep skinny, beautiful models on the magazines and TV so their husbands will believe that outward beauty is what's important, and they'll become dissatisfied with their wives. "
"Keep the wives too tired to love their husbands at night If they don't give their husbands the love they need, they will begin to look elsewhere."
"That will fragment their families quickly!"
"Give them Santa Claus to distract them from teaching their children the real meaning of Christmas."
"Give them an Easter Bunny so they won't talk about his resurrection and power over sin and death."
"Even in their recreation, let them be excessive."
"Have them return from their recreation exhausted."
"Keep them too busy to go out in nature and reflect on God's creation. Send them to amusement parks, sporting events, plays, concerts, and movies instead."
"Keep them busy, busy, busy!"
"And when they meet for spiritual fellowship, involve them in gossip and small talk so that they leave with troubled consciences."
"It will work!"
The demons went eagerly to their assignments causing Christians everywhere to get busier and more rushed, going here and there. Having little time for their God or their families.
Having no time to tell others about the love of Jesus.

I don't know which religions you are talking about, but I would say in general that it is usually not the fault of the religion itself, but rather of people who don't understand, or heed, the religion.
There are many ways that this can happen. Here are just a couple of them:
(1) the religion as a whole may say a lot about love, but also say a lot about judgment, retribution, and so on. In that case, a person can become confused about what the religion is telling him. Remember, even Jesus said, "Do you suppose I came to establish peace on earth? No indeed, I have come to bring division. For from now on, five members of a family will be divided, three against two and two against three; father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother" (Luke 12:51-53)
2. A religion may be intolerant of other people's values and beliefs. In that case, even if the religion is mainly about loving your fellow human being, it may be interpreted as, "love your fellow member of the same religion" and the attitude towards others might be that either they must be converted or they must be resisted. Although Jesus says, "Resist not evil" (Matthew 5:39), there are not even many Christians who put this into practice (it even seems inconsitent with the passage above!), and I can't think of many other religions that take this view seriously.

It's not religion that supposed to be about Love, it's being a christian.
Most people use religion to cover up the sins they actually are doing.
If you have Jesus in your heart you automatically are going to spread Love.
If you don't know much about Jesus I suggest you go to Bible studies in different religions because you will pick up good things everywhere but be aware of the untrue things too. It's best to just get into the Bible and get on your knees and pray and ask Jesus into your heart. And no matter how much ugliness you witness in this world always remember God will always be there for you.

Religion by itself does not create hate , anger or even love !
If there is an urge to get angry, may be religious interpretations give a very good excuse to let out the steam !
You will find most interpretations are not having the clarity of contextual reference. When a part is taken out and interpreted it may be out of context, and mis-carry the intended meaning, outdated purpose, etc. Even this can not cause any adverse effect UNLESS, somebody used it as an authentic source to exploit the innocent believer ! Really a very sensitive issue, and it requires tremendous inner strength and courage, to meaningfully challenge such interpretations !

Well many religions deny that any other is correct. Therefore, they must show disdain for other faiths and compel others to believe as they do.
Nothing is more troubling to believers than to find someone else believes something completely different. Haven't you ever been visited by a Jehovah's Witness or a pair of Mormons. They arrive at your day to sell you their faith.
Institutional religion always breeds intolerance.

Because many religions base their beliefs on what society wants to hear. And this society blends itself to satisfy the idiots and ignorants on this world because they can obtain power. It's very rare that a person in this world truly follows the religious beliefs, but they sometimes contradict other religions. And each religion wants to be the winner. It's bull****, because they are supposed to create peace but they just keep on fighting to see who's right and wrong.

Because for one thing there are so many religions that people are unsure which one is right. For another people fear what they don't understand. People who have religion tend to preach it and go on and on about it sometimes offending others (usually being a person of no religion or someone unsure of religion) I mean think about it for example I do believe in a higher being but let's just say someone came up and said to me " Your damned for life because you don't (-----------)" Im going to be a little offended. ANYONE would. So Christians saying to Athiest or non believers that they have no chance of going to heaven although it may be true it's a little offensive to a non believer.

People like to think that religions are about loving thy neighbor, but that is at best an incomplete picture. The difference between religion and science is that science is based on evidence and observation, while religion is based on dogma and personal belief. That alone makes religion an extremely personal, rather than universal, matter. All religions are structured such that each one is the only "true" one, and all other people must adhere to these same beliefs if they are to have salvation.
So religions are, at their heart, an exclusionary belief system. Most religions freely welcome converts, but note this is saying, "you join us, we're not going to join you." Adherents naturally fall into an "us vs. them" mode of thinking. And it is this "us vs. them" thinking that is the rationalization for much of the ugliness and violence religion is responsible for.

I truly think its because everyone thinks that their religion is the best...that its the be all and end all of all religions...and no matter what...they want everyone to believe it too...and when they disagree...thats where the ugliness and anger come from...also because nobody knows what truly happened in the history of religion it leaves so much to question...and so many different interpretations...its bound to lead to anger....
