How far away does the pool have to be from the house & fence? Are there any other limitations?

Local zoning ordinances will determine setbacks to property lines. It sounds like you will be having a lap pool built due to the narrow lot.

Good luck with your pool project.

I doubt that you have enough room, with only a 20 ft width. When you add the coping around the edge and the walkway, you will have only a few feet left. In addition you need to look into utility easments. These are right of ways that the city and certain utilities have a right to dig into. You may end up having your pool ripped out for a city pipeline, and they will have no obligation to repair the pool. Also check to see if you have deed restrictions as to how close to a property line you can build.

with world water shortage why waist water go to public pool you would have to install a child proof fence,it must allso be at least one meter from your neibours fence line and i think its 3meters from your house best to check first with your local council or use a reputable pool installer they will be able to tell you all the legal requirments, but my self it cost a lot to run a pool electric, chemicals pump filters etc etc ask yourself is it relly worth all the hassells and cost.

This all depends upon your local building code. I think for such a major undertaking (financial and labor), you should contact a professional pool installer in your area.
