It's partly the way they are raised. Girls have more at stake if they have sex than boys so parents often think the only way to keep their daughters from an unwanted pregnancy is to scare the be-jesus out of them. The result is that many girls end up thinking their body "down there" is unclean and vile. But I think there's more to it. Boys' and girls' external sex organs are located differently. A guy's penis is conveniently at hand level and in most cases he can masturbate without even getting his hands dirty, without undressing and without vibrators, dildoes or other paraphernalia. Girls' sensitive parts are located lower between the legs. Really effective stimulation requires at least partial disrobing and either manual stimulation which is often messy or using the above mentioned paraphernalia. Visual exploring requires a mirror. Finally, there is a matter of esthetics. The vagina is located within an inch or so of the anus. Many girls have the same feeling of disgust fingering their vagina as boys would have fingering their anal region. Thankfully all that is changing as we enter the 21st century and masturbation is seen for what it is - a safe and healthful way to relieve sexual tension.

People don't feel comfortable touching themselves and exploring there body. Some don't think it's nasty they just don't want people to know because they want to fit in. Masturbating is natural. I do it.

Most teenage girls have not fully accepted their bodys. They have not learned that it is healthy to explore yourself and self gratification is ok if not done in excess. Give it some time as you get older and your peers do too they will mature to this.

Because they are pretending they think it is and they don't do it, when really, they are just embarrassed for doing it themselves..but really, it is very healthy and natural.
