im trying to decide which one for a baby name.

Shannon is really beautiful, not too sure why I like it, guess because I used to have a friend named Shannon and she was a gorgeous girl, really smart, talented and funny. Plus I was thinking thats what I would name one of my kids....haha, you've got good taste!

I really like the name Shannon, I think the name "Laura" is prettier than "Lauren".
Ok, I guess I like the name "Shannon" because it was my mother's maiden name, it is a good Irish name, it reminds me of cool green grass and a lovely pasture in the Irish countryside. I like it best, I have roots with the name though.
My Great grandmother's name was Laura Esther, and we used to joke with her that she was so lucky that her folks have not named her Polly Esther...Ok that had nothing to do with anything, except to tell you why I like which names.
If this is something you are considering naming a baby, perhaps you should keep it simple, because you are going to be saying that name a LOT for the next 18 or more years ;-).
If it is for a baby, congratulations and maybe wait to look at your baby, to decide if she is a "Shannon" or a "Laruen". No, I thought it was a great joke with my G-G-ma, but I DO not suggest the name Polly Esther! Good luck, stay well! :-D

I think Lauren is a much better name all around.
Not that Shannon is a bad name, especially if you are of irish heritage. But, Lauren is sweeter, more innocent, just more pleasent to the tongue and the ears. Shannon, is a name for someone very strong and someone very brave. Lauren is meek and sensitive.

For a girl's name, I like Lauren. I do not know exactly why I like the name. I guess I just like the sound of the name. You have a great day yourself, too.

I like Shannon. Lauren is a bit too common and I wouldn't want to name my daughter something that so many other girls are named.

Lauren reminds me of a friend i had in middle school
very down to earth and just a likable kinda gal. I like the name Lauren.
Shannon on the other hand reminds of a girl i knew in High school. Very sociable and not in a good way. If yah know what i mean.

Lauren's been overused, but I still like it better than Shannon. But maybe it's time for Shannon to make a comeback...no, I still like Lauren better.
