I'm 25 and my fiance and I have already decided we don't want kids. (I've never wanted kids in my entire life and if for some miracle I want one I would adopt.) I've been on birth control for years and I'm ready to get something more permanent. Has anyone had the essure procedure done? I'm interested b/c its non-surgical. Any other suggestions on permanent birth control methods?

I have the Essure implants. But, I'm also 30 yrs old with 1 child and 2 step children. You may want to wait until you're a little older to go such a permanent route. But, if you choose to use Essure it's a simple day surgery that takes 30 mn. I had no cramping the next day. It's been almost a year since I had it done and I haven't noticed any real side affects. Good luck! Look up www.conceptus.com They are the manufacturers of essure.

I don't know the term Essure but I had an Endometrial Ablation last December. The procedure cauterizes the uterus and you have no periods or very light ones. From what my doctor told me it leaves you sterile. It was the best decision I've made. I feel wonderful now.

Other than abstinence no srry-your husband could have a vasectomy done- but like most males-its most definitely not-

And that's the 1st -I've never heard of Essure-
I had my tubes clipped years ago (with actual clips) the surgery is minor-day surgery

Tubes tied, Vasectomy those can also be reversed if you change your mind, or something happens to your partner.

Not other than having your tubes tied, but before you do something so drastic make sure this is what you want.
