I have 4 gable vents. Two on the west side in each bedroom and one each on the south and north sides of the house.
I also have 4 of the newer rectangle roof vents and soffitt all around the house. The house is 3 years old with thick insulation (can't remember th R value). Should I install fans in all gables? If not where and why? Thanks

I don't know where you are located and what the weather is like but I assume it must be hot. Most new homes are insulated and vented so well they don't need attic fans. Attic fans are rated for cubic feet, unless you have a mansion one should be enough. You can locate it anywhere and it will draw air through all of the vents.

You just want the air going from one side to the other and out. If put in two it will suck are in through the others.
