If they gang up on you it's all over. The only way out would be to challenge the leader to an honorable duel. If you lose you die but if you win they'll recognize the victory and let you go.

You can run like a coward, or you can find the leader and fight him. If they are like real shock troops, it'll be hard to find the leader...but it you do try to fight him one on one.
