I only know 2 things about Nose piercing.
1. It hurts! Da
2. Makes you look like an idiot!
Sorry just my opinion, but it does.

1. People heal differently, but you are suppose to leave it in for 6 weeks after getting it pierced. I changed mine after a month and nothing bad happened.
2. It doesn't matter if the water hits your face. But if you're using a puff or something to wash your face, just be careful not to get your nose ring hung on it- I have done this before, and it kinda hurts.
3. You should clean it about 3 times a day. Use anti-bacterial Dial soap, it works the best. Be sure to use a Q-Tip so you can clean under the nose ring as well.
4. It doesn't matter if you have oily skin, or acne. But if your skin is REALLY oily, you should probably clean it more than 3 times a day.
5. A nose ring isn't in a place where it gets bumped often or anything of that nature- so it doesn't really hurt at all. It may be sore for an hour or so, but no real pain.

Actually, I wouldn't advise it but I changed it as soon as my husband pierced it for me. He did it with one of those self piercers that are for your ears. I know I am crazy but since he had the strength in his hands to do it fast, I didn't think it hurt as much as getting my ears pierced. They tell you to wait like 6 wks or so before you change it out, but he helped me to get what I wanted right back into the same hole where he had pierced. I wouldn't advise trying to do it alone though. Keeping in mind that back when I had mine done, you had to use an earring because they didn't even make nose rings until right after that, so it was just a straight post that I was inserting back into the hole. Now if you get a nose ring with the little ball on the end to keep it from falling out all the time(which by the way, is such a great improvement) I don't think I would try to do that right away. I didn't find that water hurt a thing and I would say the cleaner you can keep the whole area with the solution they give you(like for your ears) the better off you will be. I don't know about the oily skin since I have dry skin but I would say just to clean it with a cotton ball or q-tip and the solution everytime you think of it....at the very least 2-3 times per day and really saturate it. It will stay a little red right around the piercing for a little while and just a bit sore but you will be fine. I have had no problems whatsoever with my nose like you hear about people who have lip and eyebrow piercings sometimes having. Good luck and enjoy! By the way, I still love mine.

•1.2 months approximately.(if you don't play with it.)
•2.yes, you can wash around it with a towel but be careful because terry cloth towels get snagged on things easily. Its no problem if you splash water on your face. Just don't submerge the piercing underwater for the initial healing process.
•3.Once a day if good for cleaning, at the most twice. Any more will irritate it.
This is how I recommend for cleaning.
Wet a Q-tip with water. Put a little soap on the Q-tip and gently circle the piercing. Rinse well with water. Do not clean the inside of the nostril.(its a mucus membrane and will clean itself!)
You can also clean it with a sea salt solution. ( you may also be instructed by your piercer to do this if your piercing gets irritated or slightly ifected) To make a sea salt solution follow these instructions:
âºSea Salt Soakâ
1.Wash your hands with an anti-Bacterial or antimicrobial liquid Soap/Wash.
2.Use a disposable cup to mix your sea salt solution. Or clean your cup very well with the anti-bacterial soap.
3.Mix 1/4 teaspoon of sea salt to 8 oz of warm water. (Distilled water if possible)
4.Dip a papertowel in the solution and hold on your nose for 10 minuites.Do this once a day.
Do not rotate, twist it or turn the piercing.
Each method of cleaning is great, but dont do both at the same time, its too much.
•4.It is ok to get a nose piercing if you have skin problems, but be careful with putting on any skin cleansers, acne medication and ESPECIALLY exfoliating cleansers such as the step one of the Proactive solution. ( the one with the little grains in it). Those little grains can get inside the piercing, and cause problems. I know this from personal experience.
•5.A few hours to a days but everybody is different.

I don't think it is attractive. I believe that people do it to try and please other people, besides it seems like that when you get a cold and you sneeze, your snot would act like a bungee cord hanging on the post inside your nostril.
