I'm a huge DOOL fan and I know that things can get really lame with this soap and you can just not watch for a week and see that nothing's really happened but I still love it and I hope they keep airing it. The new writers'll probably be beneficial for the show. I just hope they don't stop it.

It isn't getting worse, it's just stale.
I think it reached its ultimate worst when the whole gina being a princess/virtual reality thing was going on. I stopped wathcing/following it then.
Ive been watching it ever since I was 7 or so years old, and I'm 22 now. I still love it despite its too many faults. I mean, they brought back Kayla and Patch, that's a move forward.
But it needs to get moving, especially with these baby switch storylines...
Anyways, there's hope because the new writers are starting in september. The new head writer use to write for As the World Turns, so it should pick up once he gets started. What worries me is that all the actors/actresses are leaving!!! Like Mimi and Jen!

yeah..you're right. some of the story lines are ridiculous! I've been watching since I was 5...and I'm 43 now! sheesh! anyway, I used to watch several other shows, but this is the only one I watch now. most of the time, though, I only see 1-2 episodes a week.
like a lot of lame storylines in soaps...how many times can someone have amnesia? how many times can someone come back from the dead? how is it someone is a child one day, and suddenly they are a teenager? there are characters on soaps that weren't born when i started watching it, who are grown and have grandkids?
I dunno why I still watch it sometimes...

It's funny cuz I had watched Days of Our Lives several years ago and stopped watching it when my first daughter was born. I started watching it on-and-off again when my second daughter turned one and I went back to work full time. The same things were happening when I tuned back in as were happening when I stopped watching it 4 1/2 years before that.

I have been watching Days since it first aired, well off and on anyway.
There have been lame times and good times.
Right now though it is going through a difficult time. They just fired their staff of writers and hired some new ones so give it time and see if it helps.
They have been told that this may be the last year that it airs if something doesn't give.

It is boring now to the point where I don't care if I miss it for...well...days (lol). I feel it is b/c they drag storylines out waaaaaaay too long. They are notorious for that, and they need to stop it if they want people to stay interested. Nobody cares "whodunit" anymore if it takes a year to find out!

I haven't watched it in 20 years. I'll bet Marlena is still there. Or is it her twin sister that nobody knew about? Nothing ever happens. Turn it off.
