Gee, you bring back memories. I spent every summer in my youth there and as a teen every week end. Looking back I can't believe I had so much so close to home...there is more than just that beach. The amusement park and yummy eats are located just a few miles south of the bridge. Go north is a treat as well, nice scenery, et all. Further north is Portsmouth (Naval Base) and then Portland, Maine (don't miss that!) Still further north about 20 miles is Freeport, ME home of LL Bean for great shopping. Have a ball, try the clams, fried onion rings, etc. I am getting hungry just thinking about the place. Thanks for this question, it brought back fond memories. No it is nothing like the Cape by the way...except for the traffic along Ocean Boulevard caused from looking at all the guys and dolls. If you are young and single you are definitely going to the right place. My sister came to visit with her 5 teenage daughters from Minnesota and took them there. They could not believe the place and are still talking about it after 15 years. Have a great time!!!

I used to go to school in Manchester, New Hampshire so Hampton Beach was the closest beach to the campus. It's a quaint little area with some interesting shops. I only went down to Cape Cod once and didn't spend a lot of time there but from what I remember, it's kind of similar.

I wouldn't compare Hampton Beach to Cape Cod. I love Hampton Beach though. It's like a touristy place with a local feel. Hard to explain really.

I'm an NH boy, so, I love it for the locals and NH way of life. Sure we have a lot MA peops visit, but they're respectful and appreciate our little beach.

I used to live in mass, and went to hampton beach a few times, and had a blast. It was great, lots to do, kind of like an amusement park without the cool rides, but but but, keep in mind, that would be like 20 years ago for me. I cannot tell you how much it might have changed, but back in the late 70's early 80's it was a very fun place.
