You might try asking that question to the nutjobs who are trying to crash airplanes into buildings, the ocean, each other instead.

Very stupid question to ask on the day the British arrested 21 suspected terrorists planning on blowing up 10 passenger jets inbound to the U.S. I am not for war, however, I'm also not for terrorists, dictatorships (especially those that lead to multiple mass graves, the gassing of people you don't care for and wholesale slaughter just for the heck of it (i.e. Saddam's sons)), nor am I for the hatred and anger that seems to be the norm in parts of the world. Those of you who absolutely hate war and the resutant loss of life would do well to remember that all countries have been involved in wars over the centuries. Many countries were founded because of war or through war (i.e. the U.S.).

War is a terrible thing and the loss of life worse still but it generally results in freedoms that were previously not given or had been taken away. The war in Iraq has turned into a horrifying event. That is not because of the U.S. it is because of the hatred that one group has for another and their desire to annihilate each other. The Israeli/Hezzbollah action is also terrible, however that's because the Lebanese government failed to disarm an internationally recognized terrorist organization that started the whole action.

Your questions should be why did Hezzbollah start a war. And why don't the Shiites and Sunni's want a stable and freedom loving country in which everybody is equal.

Your dislike of the U.S. is irritating considering the U.S. bends over backwards to assist every other country in the world regardless of political differences. Examples are everywhere. We provide food to N. Korea and billions of dollars to the tsunami victims (more than any other country provided).

It's not a love of war. It's a love of the end result of war. Many Americans would also do well to remember that or the sacrifice of so many is wasted.

Trust and belive this is not americans doing this .....This would be the Bush adminisration. We as the people only have so much say in the matter ... it's disappointing to here you say that if you watch any of the news you would see that the Nation is'nt happy with the discions made in fact half of america has family thats in the millitary and would much rather see then back home then in a box ..so on the behalf of all americans I dont support war I feel there could be a more peacefull resolution then war ...look at it this way if your father dicide he wants to kill a stranger for no reason does it make you the child guilty as well for murder.??think on it..

Woaaahhhh!

You've got your giant assumption hat on today don't you. Not all Americans like war. Many individuals never supported the invasion of Iraq.

Stop identifying the American population as being represented by the government. Bush didn't win by a landslide and by no means does he represent every American's views.

Unfortunately, Bush is the commander and chief of the military and there is little I can do about that other NOT vote for him. I'm not in the military and I never approved of the invasion of Iraq period end of story.

Americans don't love war, but assholes like Saddam, Hezbollah, Iran, Al Queada and other terrorists groups do they want the world and you dead. So wise the hell up. Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaam people like you make me sick. And the first ones to yell for help from America if your country gets in trouble, so where are you from anyway asswipe France, or are you living here is freedom. Hezbollah is the one that need to be wiped off the face of the earth, and I hope the hell Israel dose it.

Hezbollah fighters kidnapped two Israeli soldiers, when Israeli soldiers went to get them they were met with military style tactics and weapons. The Lebanese police didn’t arrest the kidnappers and they didn’t evacuate the citizens from a danger zone.
The Israelis were forced to try and get their soldiers back. When Israeli soldiers attempted this Hezbollah fighters used rockets and automatic weapons to keep the kidnapped soldiers. Several Israeli soldiers were killed in the attempt.
The wide spread fighting with the Hezbollah fighters makes them accessories to kidnapping and guilty of murder. The vast numbers of fighters should make this organized crime.
With the failure of the Lebanese police at both levels, the Israelis must do what is required to get their people returned. Military style tactics require military action to get this done. With the failure of the Lebanese police to get their people to safety, Israel can’t allow the citizens to deter them from bringing the criminals to justice.
Organized crime of this magnitude can’t be allowed to escape punishment. The Israelis must use any and all methods to bring organized crime to justice, the numbers of criminals and the firepower they have makes military action of any level to get the job done necessary. Hezbollah has a member holding the position of Speaker of the Parliament an elected position voted on by the Parliament. This must therefore be considered as a government sponsored action and any action by Israel needed to bring justice is warranted.
Hezbollah should have caught the kidnappers and sentenced them to justice. The failure of Hezbollah to capture the kidnappers and the killing of Israelis makes all the Hezbollah fighters accessories to kidnapping and guilty of murder. The shear level of the numbers of criminals, should have brought outside aide to Israel in the suppression of the Hezbollah organized crime criminals.
The failure of the worlds leaders is to their eternal shame, and that the whole world shall have to bear. Our world leaders have become cowards and not able to deal with a large organized crime syndicate. The Israelis are left to do what ever is required to bring all the criminals to justice.
Had this accrued in the US and Hezbollah hid in a neighborhood, then used rockets and automatic weapons on the same scale. The US military would level all the buildings occupied by Hezbollah and bring down the buildings with the criminals inside. As soon as the police had evacuated the citizens who were in danger.
Israel is doing no different, the law is the law and the organized crime syndicate known as Hezbollah must be brought to justice, no matter the cost. The law is clear and must be enforced.

I am an American and I do not support the war in Iraq or Lebanon. These decisions were not made by me, an American. Those decisions were made by the American government, who's office members I did not elect or support.

None of us on questions and answers really had much to do with decisions about war. I'm positive most of us would agree we don't like war. You need to do a little more research on your question because it's a lot more complicated than you state.
