IE7 is still in beta testing, meaning that it's a fully-functional piece of software but that there may still be bugs in it or major changes before it goes final. IE7 addresses many of the features lacking in IE6, such as tabbed browsing (like Firefox), integrated search (again, like Firefox) and more.

From a technical standpoint, IE7 still leaves a lot to be desired. The internet has a non-profit organization (W3C) dedicated to providing standards for web design and browsers. The developers of IE7 have chosen not to comply with a number of the W3C's recommendations. This may not seem like a big deal, but it is. A website designed to comply with the recommendations may not function properly in IE. This is not only a big headache for web designers (it's very tricky to get a website to work right in all browsers), but it also has implications for accessibility (a browser that doesn't comply with standards may not work as it's supposed to with text readers for the blind).

Hope this helps.

If you're interested in IE7, you can download the beta version at the link below.

It takes getting used to, but I am starting to like it. Took about two weeks. The initial load of your homepage is much slower than 6.

I tried it a few months ago and had trouble keeping it running without hanging, freezing, and not downloading. So, I had to pull it out. I think that it has potential, but I am waiting until they get lots of the bugs out of it.
