Island in the Stream

Islands in the stream
That is what we are
No one in between
How can we be wrong
Sail away with me
To another world
And we rely on each other , ah ha
From one lover to another , ah ha

As the guards march me out to the courtyard
Somebody cries from a cell "God be with you"
If there's a god, why has he let me down?

As I walk, my life drifts before me
Though the end is near, I'm not sorry
Catch my soul, its willing to fly away..

- Iron Maiden

In your mind's eye could you truly believe,
That by giving you can save your soul?
Could you be so naive?
You heal the sick, you raise the dead,
You blind the congregation
With the things you say.

Religious blackmail a deceit of trust,
That death will come and all will be lost.

When doubt subsides his honesty,
An inquiry, is it blasphemy?
Impure the soul, that's made to suffer,
No sermons left to hide or cover,
An empty promise, lie unfulfilled,
To steal a dream or get it killed.
They claim your trip to heavens nearby,
You may believe it but satan wouldn't lie.

- Slayer

Holy man open up your eyes
To the ways of the world you've been so blind
As the walls of religion come crashing down
How's the ignorance taste the second time around

-Slayer

Never! No never again!
Listen to me and believe what I say if you can
Never, this is the end
you know I've seen the faces of doom and I'm only a man

Help me, tell me I'm sane
I feel a change in the earth, in the wind and the rain
Save me, take me away
you know I've seen some creatures from hell and I've heard what they say..

-Black Sabbath

The war tear just drags along
But oh God it's growing strong
It's time again ourselves to spare
It's just the violence everywhere

Religion is hate
Religion is fear
Religion is war

Religion is rape
Religion's obscene
Religion's a whore

Jesus is pain
Jesus is gore
Jesus is the blood that's spilled in war

He's everything
He's all things dead
He's pulling on the trigger
Pointed at your head

-Slayer

One of my favorites --
"Does anyone know
Where the love of God goes
When the waves turn the minutes to hours?"
- The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot, about the drownings that took place in Lake Superior in the 1970s, when a ship sank.

Change by Blind Melon is always a good one.

I don't feel the suns comin' out today
Its staying in, its gonna find another way.
As I sit here in this misery, I don't
Think I'll ever, no lord, see the sun from here.
And oh as I fade away,
They'll all look at me and say, and they'll say,
Hey look at him! I'll never live that way.
But that's okay
They're just afraid to change.
When you feel your life ain't worth living
You've got to stand up and
Take a look around you then a look way up to the sky.
And when your deepest thoughts are broken,
Keep on dreaming boy, cause when you stop dreamin its time to die.
And as we all play parts of tomorrow,
Some ways will work and other ways well play.
But I know we all cant stay here forever,
So I want to write my words on the face of today.
And then they'll paint it
And oh as I fade away,
They'll all look at me and they'll say,
Hey look at him and where he is these days.
When life is hard, you have to change

actually i just heard this new song from the band "Something Corprate" called Konstantine... they are kinda emo i guess but i love it. It kinda resembles my last relationship how the girl breaks up with the guy but they both get lonley and figure out that they really do need eachother and get back into eachothers arms at the end. (or at least thats what i pulled from it)

And if I hurt you
Then I’m sorry
Please don’t think that this was easy
And then you’d bring me home
Cuz we both know what it’s like to be alone
And I’m dreaming in your living room
but We don’t have much room
To live

I like "Over my head" by the fray. Its makes you think about a time where you've fallen and everybody was expecting it.

And suddenly I become a part of your past
I'm becoming the part that don't last
I'm losing you and its effortless
Without a sound we lose sight of the ground
In the throw around
Never thought that you wanted to bring it down
I won't let it go down till we torch it ourselves

Thats my Favorite part

Numb, by Linkin Park.

I had a rather disturbing arguement with my father some time ago concerning my lifestyle and career.
It became the defining moment of my life.
The lyrics almost perfectly mirror the statements I made at the time and hearing them in the form of music is somewhat different than hearing myself scream them.

Gnarls Barkley "Crazy"

I remember when, I remember, I remember when I lost my mind
There was something so pleasant about that place.
Even your emotions had an echo
In so much space

And when you're out there
Without care,
Yeah, I was out of touch
But it wasn't because I didn't know enough
I just knew too much

Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Does that make me crazy?
Possibly [radio version]
probably [album version]

And I hope that you are having the time of your life
But think twice, that's my only advice

Come on now, who do you, who do you, who do you, who do you think you are,
Ha ha ha bless your soul
You really think you're in control

Well, I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
I think you're crazy
Just like me

My heroes had the heart to lose their lives out on a limb
And all I remember is thinking, I want to be like them
Ever since I was little, ever since I was little it looked like fun
And it's no coincidence I've come
And I can die when I'm done

Maybe I'm crazy
Maybe you're crazy
Maybe we're crazy
Probably

Uh, uh
