I was on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo and the switched to Seasonale for two years. I am now back on Ortho and will never stray again.

Seasonale never truly worked like I wanted it to. I had my regular period every three months, but I also had unpredictable spotting which would last for days at a time. I never have spotting problems with Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo. I took it for two years because I was told it takes 6 months to a year for it to work like it's supposed to. I gave it an extra year just in case it would help.

Other side effects that I had no idea were due to Seasonale (these symptoms improved within a month off of Seasonale):

--My sex drive decreased significantly, which may be good for some people, but not me!

--I was moody and depressed very often.

I had no idea how badly Seasonale was affecting me until I stopped taking it. Luckily, my husband is very understanding and was able to put up with my moodiness and low sex drive for two years. I apologize to him often (though he says I don't need to) for being stubborn for two years trying to get this pill to work for me.

I'd rather have my period more often and be a happier person.

I have been taking it for about 7 months now and am thinking of quiting. The first three months were heaven~NO PERIOD! After about 4 1/2-5 months I started having break through bleeding. This lasted through months 5 and 6. It wasn't real heavy-enough that I had to constantly wear a panty liner. When I started my third pack (month 7) I quit having the break through bleeding. We'll have to see if it starts back in another month. OOOH I hope NOT!
Good luck

i am not taking it currently but i did take it. i stopped because it was really expensive. i would say its overall a great thing. but you have to be sure to take it every day because if you dont then you have a more likely chance of having breakthrough bleeding and for me that was a pain. but overall i think its a good thing and you should definatly try it.
