Holidays are to remember important events. The Bible tells of God telling the Hebrew people to start such observances as Passover to remind them of how He helped them out of Egypt. Then holidays like Memorial Day and 4th of July help people remember and pay respect to all the hard work and sacrifices made to have the freedoms that we enjoy.
