Very interesting question. Very significant too. I was wondering if anyone else thought about it too !
Yes, I am a go-getter (original make !), and sometimes used to wonder whether it is due to some deficiency or what ?
Nice.. to see a question. Looks like you must be a go-getter too !
It is the fabric that a person is made up of that makes that person so, I guess !
Nothing much to elaborate on this, either you are or you are not!
May be other qualities spring forth due to this !

Personally, I am a "waiter" 75% of the time. Call it the "glass half empty approach", but I think that "go-getters" fail more because they try harder and more frequently and eventually reach the lines they always attempt to cross and find satisfaction in the ambition they have where as young men like myself tend to fear the failure and therefore never move an inch toward what we yearn for...really I should be taking my own advice here.

Up until a few months ago I was a wait n seer. Well I got offered a job OUTSIDE the federal govt. that pays twice as much for the same work as I was getting paid inside the federal govt. Now I have so much more self esteem. i'm definately more of a "go-getter".

I am definately a "go-getter". If i really want something, i make it happen for myself. Sometimes in life good things come along when you are not expecting them or looking for them and when that happens, you are very lucky and should take advantage of the oppurtunity. But for the most part, if you really want something, you should grab it.

I'm a go-getter. If I waited for the things to come to me that I want, I'd have cobwebs all over me!

I exhibit a mixture of these traits. If the goal is important enough to me I have the tendency to do whatever is necessary to accomplish it. However, for most things I tend to "go with the flow."

I think patience is a virtue more people should develop, but most great people could be classified as "go-getters" as they go after their dreams and goals.

Sadly, I wait for things to come to me. While I know its the go-getters that create their own luck and their own success, I just can't get myself to be really proactive for any cause. Eh, what to do...

I am neither. I am running from things. I would rather be a go getter.

In life you can only throw the ball or catch it. The thrower has more control and a chance for success. Waiting for someone to throw you a ball will never get you anywhere.
