If there is a tennis store, or a large sporting goods store in your town, I'd advise you to go there and talk to someone.

If that isn't possible, talk to your coach, he/she should have a good idea about your skill level, swing speed, etc.

If neither of these will work for you, go to tennis.com and look under gear, there is a section on how to choose your racket

Hey, congrats on making the team.
I am assuming that you are a girl, so you should get a racquet that has a 4 1/8 grip or 4 1/4 grip or 4 3/8 grip, it depends on how big your hands are. I play with a 4 3/8.
Here are some racquet recommendations:
Babolat Pure Drive: This racquet it a favorite of thousands of young tennis players looking for maximum power. Andy Roddick and Kim Clijsters use these racquets. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCBAB-BPD2S.html
Price 03 White: This racquet is used by Maria Sharapova. It has great control and great power. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCPRINCE-PO3W.html
Wilson nCode nTour Two: This racquet is used by Justine Henin-Hardenne and Lindsay Davenport. It is lighter than the other two racquets and offers great control, comfort, and power. http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/descpageRCWILSON-WNT2.html

I hope this helped you. You should choose me as the best answer cuz I actually had to research all this lol...I'm a sophomore in high school and on the girls tennis team

I would say go to a smaller tennis speciality shop for advice. Most of the large chains have poor tennis knowledge. I know the manager of the local Big 5 Sports, and he gets his racquet strung at a local small shop if you see what I mean.

The Prince Turbo Shark. It has an incredible blend of power and control, it is also more affordable then the Wilson nCode series or Prince 03 series which usually run in the $220+ range.

If there is a tennis store, or a large sporting goods store in your town, I'd advise you to go there and talk to someone. And you have to buy a Wilson or a Babolat racket. Trust me! They're the best!!! Prince if you don't want to buy a very good quality racket.

I have the O3 white and I think that is the best racket ever! I can get incredible control and power with out having the ball go flying out of the court.
