I know it is recommended to get them, but not required. If I am in the Philippines visiting for just 10 days, should I be safe and get Hepatitus A and Typhoid shots, or is it very unlikely I will catch these on my stay if I stick to drinking bottled water? Basically, what are the odds of me getting either one without having immunizations?

It would depend on where would you be visiting? If you're on a charity mission and will be visiting the slums, take all the shots "recommended". And it also depends on your physical stamina. But any of those shots are only necessary depending on your agenda here. But normal visits, doing tourist-type things. It's not a problem, you won't get sick.

Its always advisable to get a hepatitis A & B injections before a trip to Asia but not mandatory, you should have had a BCG injection as a kid which left a small scar on your shoulder, this is for Tuberculosis and if you have not had the jab allready you should get it before you fly.

I would also recommend that you get a tetanus booster but Typhoid is not really required for Philippines.

You don't need them but you might as well get the Hep A shot. Once you receive the shot, you can go back to the Dr. and get a booster (about six months later) which is good for about 10 years. Hep A is easy to get although I doubt you are more likely to get it here.

you'll be safe there - the odds of getting hepa or typhoid out there w/out immunizations would be as much as winning the jackpot in a super lotto lottery:)

No need for immunization..maybe your need a malaria shot if you wanna go to the mountains..

Better beware of policemen, traffic enforcers, theyre gonna rob your money off. Beware of pickpockets and prostitutes with Aids..
Beware of taxi drivers..
In short..always look at your back..
