my school friends on there computers they use avira antivirus. i am thinking about using it. because of the fact it only takes up 10MB but i wanted to ask yall if yall have ever heard of this program. and how good it is.

I have heard many people who use this program, but it is not consider the best out there, one: because its free, two: the definitions take long to update...

hi, avira is good. but it is not famous, you'd better use Norton or Mcafee.
i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.
besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.
firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

It's virus detection rates are far better then the other 2 major free anti-virus programs (AVG and Avast).
It is an excellent choice!

nope ive never heard of it. cNet rates Trend Micro the best.
