Of course there is. I live on Earth. Actually I live in Wisconsin in a small city type (Oshkosh)...There's not outward racism etc...but it's there. We're mostly laid back...but get them going on one of the three subject and then throw the War in...it gets hot. But we're all still human...and we still need to learn.

I live in Georgia and racism is widespread for the most part. The least racist part of GA is the urban parts of metro Atlanta, aminly because it has become more diverse. For the most part we have racism and in particular, if you go out to the rural areas, racism is considered normal. In my old high school, racism was so rampant that violence occured on a few occasions and many persons want to deny it, but it happens. After the confederate flag was banned from schools, racial tensions ran very high. Anti-semitism and homophobia also follow. It isn't as bad as Alabama or Mississppi, but racism happens here.

I think those things are present, but I don't encounter them often. I live in the valley in California (sorry, won't give more info than that) and we're pretty much a mixed pot here. We have neighborhoods that are all white and prefer to remain that way, but not many. As for homophobia, I've only seen one or two incidences of it in the area. I think the most I've ever encountered here is Wiccans are sometimes treated badly by Christians, but even these incidences are few and far between. We wanted my husband's pastor to do our wedding, but the rumor got into the church somehow that I was pagan. I'm not, but still. Even then he agreed to do a civil ceremony for us. Of course, since I'm Christian and clarified that we did get our Christian ceremony. But I was amazed to learn how well people accepted me in the church while thinking I was pagan. I also participate in friends' wiccan rituals where it calls for the best friend to be there or something like that. Stuff like coming into womanhood or other such ceremonies. I guess I'm pretty lucky that I don't deal with any major prejudice problems.

I live in the west. There are always threats against us and synagogues employ off-duty police officers to guard the entrances and parking lots during services. Since the shooting in Seattle, we've closed all entrances but one and have a "Security Committee" to make recommendations about other security measures for our Sunday Schools and other activities.
Yes, we also have many attacks on gays/lesbians.

As everyone in one way or another is racist, it is everywhere. If you say you are not racist, you are lying to yourself. It is a human flaw, yes. But, one flaw we all have.
