Shepherd and Greene ferret food?

How many people have given this food to their ferrets? I am currently changing my ferrets food to this and want to know what others think about it.It is the best I have found in my area after researching all the kinds they sell in all the stores by me.

There is another kind of food, but I can't remember the name...but they say no problem switching over most ferrets will take it the first day. The big thing is make sure the food is at least 34% protein. Ferrets imprint on food, so it is really hard to get them to take anything they have not had as babies. Like Marshall Farms Ferrets are started on Marshall Ferret Food and it is about impossible to get them started on anything else.

First off, don't buy the Walmart stuff. Like she said, it's cheap and WRONG. Ferrets do not need "Fruits and Veggies", matter of fact, they cannot digest it. 8in1 has several types of food and all but the ULTIMATE are no good. 8in1 Ultimate is great as a matter of fact, but stay away from the Premium or Ultra. The only food I found at Walmart that I will feed is Maxximum Kitten, not cat.

I mix 8in1 Ultimate with Maxximum Kitten, because I adopted a 3 yr old female that won't eat actual ferret food.

It's not all that great of a food, it only rates a 4 on this chart: http://everythingfert.proboards36.com/index.cgi?board=kristen&action=display&thread=1109195167 . Try to find if there are any brands that rate a 1 or a 2 in your area. You can find Maxximum kitten at wal-mart. Natural Balance Ultra Premium Cat, Zupreem, and 8-in-1 Ultimate can be found at Petco. And Felidea, Wellness Super5 Mix kitten, and the Chicken Soup brands are often found at non-chain petstores and feed stores.
I feed my 5 ferrets a mix of Maxximum kitten, Felidae, and Natural Balance Ultra Premium cat. I'm glad to see you are doing some research ;).
And I've switched 5 Marshalls ferrets off of their crappy food with relative ease. But you are correct, ferrets do imprint on foods and sometimes are stubborn about changing.

The only food I've found that all `-.-` ferrets `-.-` like (all ferrets that I've come across anyways) is "Chicken flavored" ferret food & "Fruits & Veggies" ferret food mixed together which come in seperate boxes & can be bought cheaply at walmart `-.-`

I feed 8 in 1, because I saw on a different chart that it was the best. My ferrets had no problem switching.
