They sure do! Just like you cats, dogs, horses, and giraffes are all placental mammals. Placental mammals develop inside their mother. Nutrients, oxygen, and wastes are exchanged between the developing embryo and the mother through a placenta. An umbilical cord connects the embryo to the placenta. The navel or belly button is where the umbilical cord was attatched to the young placental mammal. So even though you may not notice it unless you look very carefully, dogs and cats do, indeed, have belly buttons.
Did you know the time it takes placental mammals to develop inside their mother varies? It takes about 20 days for a hamster to develop and about 20 months for an elephant to develop

Kind of. When a kitten is born they are in a sack. The mother cat eats/swallows that sack. There is a little bit of umbilical cord. The cord eventually shrivels up and falls off. I've never actually shaved my cat's belly to see it.

I know they have umbilical cords...but I've never seen a cat's belly button before. So if they have belly buttons, they must be nearly invisible.

sort of...

technically, YES, they do have belly buttons.. but not like you or i. if you look on their tummy, you'll see a little oblong thing that looks like a scar... that's their belly button. it's where the umbilical cord was attached while they were in the womb.. once they were born, the mother chewed off the umbilical cord, leaving only the piece of skin on their tummy to heal... and thus, their belly button was created.

Depends, they're born with umbilical cords, and if they're born in with a Vet present he'll probably tie the cord off. In the wild, they just fall of and don't leave a belly button.

only humans have belly buttons, because you have to tie off or clamp the umbilical cord to create one. other mammals have a bump where the belly button should be
