I answered this question for someone else. And they picked it as their favourite answer. So here it goes again.
Use Biore. Whether you have acne or not, use Biore for Acne prone skin, Biore Ice Cleanser its called. Great for the oiliness. AND NOT OVER DRYING!!!
I have acne and so does my sister, and really oily skin. We have tried everything from proactive to clearsil, noxema, neutrogena you name it we tried it. Biore works. Use biore for Acne prone skin, acne fighting ice cleanser its called.
TRY THIS 3 DAY Regime:
Monday: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, use a face mask - example: St. Ives Clay mask or Biore clay mask, this gets rid of the oil and gunk deep down in your pores.
Tuesay: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, use a exfoilater on your skin. I recommend St. Ives Apricot scrub, it is gentle and slofs away dead skin cells making way for birght, glowing skin.
Wednesday: Wash morning and night with Biore. After washing and before bed, fill your bathroom sink up with hot water, put a towel over your head and stand there for about five min or so. This is called steaming and helps to open up your pores.
Thurs/Fri/Sat and Sun wash morning and night with Biore and so good bye to zits. *** Also, whether you wear makeup or not, use a toner on your oily zones, you just put some on a cotton ball and dab it on you oily zones it sucks up the oil, tightens your pores and brightens your skin, use oil absorbing sheets or facial powder through out the day, this helps keep the oiliness at bay and will actually help to get rid of zits. Keep hands clean, don't touch your face, keep your teeth and mouth clean and your phone clean, and most importantly keep your hair clean, this will help you stay acne free.
ALSO, one more thing use toothpaste on a zit the night before if you are out of zit cream, it works!

Definitely only wash your face 2 to 3 times a day. Anymore will only cause it to think it's dry and make more oil. And if you have acne prone skin, don't buy those blotting sheets because a lot of them have a pore clogging oil in them. You'd be surprised ,but regular tissue or toilet paper works well for blotting. I use it all the time and it works. Use a light moisturizer in the morning too (biore shine free works pretty well for me). Nothing will make it completely perfect, but really just the blotting helps keep it in control. And at least you'll have fewer wrinkles when you get older.

Drink a lot of water to help keep your system cleaned out. Look on the bright side, you will not show your age as your face stays naturally moisturized (Trust me I KNOW). Get some of those oil blotting papers and use them in between face washing. There are also products that help decrease oil, but be careful because they can strip your skin of oils it needs too.

Use a wash made for oily faces. You could also use makeup. I use "Covergirl Smoothers pressed powder". I myself have greasy skin and I find that this stuff keeps my skin oil-free for most of the day. You may have to reapply a few times throughout the day, though.

any face wash that foams. wash with it at least twice a day on a chill day, if you're running around and sweating all day, do it many times! cream cleansers will leave your face more oily, and regular soap willd over dry your face and you'll produce more oil. i suggest clean & clear foaming face wash, it's like $5 at drugstores...
getting on the pill really helped control my acne so maybe do that :) good luck!

First wash your face with an oil free cleanser. Then while your face is still wet, apply a moisterizer. The moisterizer will absors the grease and this will also let you have a dewy face.

you are probably washing your face to much. This can cause your face to make more oil to keep it moisturized. wash your face in the morning and before you go to bed. Also oil-absorbing sheets or oil-absorbing powder by clean & clear can help.

there are oil absorbing cloths that work really well. i recommend either clean and clear or burts bees.
you might also be washing your face too often and causing it to produce more oil to keep it moisturized. so after you wash your face, apply a light oil-free moisturizer. maybe that will decrease the grease.

Look for something that has tea tree oil in it's ingredients. I know - I said oil - but tea tree oil will help dry out your skin. I like the line of Tea Tree Oil products that The Body Shop carries so if you have one near where you live check that out.
