The problems we are facing today, namely illegal immigration, wars in Iraq and elsewhere, and wasteful spending to name a few, are problems our leaders should be taking care of, not bickering about. I would support any decision our leaders make if they would just start making them. Politicians nowadays, I feel, are dishonoring the people of America by not truly representing them. They can defend their platforms well but I want to see some action. They are causing a rift between the American people by letting these issues go unresolved and the rift is only going to get bigger with each new issue we face. Eventually we are going to all reach our breaking point and DEMAND action. If every pissed off American would call or write a letter to our leaders they would be so overwhelmed with criticism they would have to do something, wouldn't they? We as taxpaying citizens need to demand action as this country is by the people for the people and I think our leaders have forgotten that.

To answer Bones' question:

Poor people do not control the media, and cannot spread their name. If they get a corporate sponsor to give them money, they become a slave to that company and will never truly represent the people. It is time to change this.

I completely agree that politicians have done USA a disservice. I think Americans are less concerned about the partisan BS and more concerned about how we are going to thrive - NOT just survive, but thrive - as a nation in the coming decades. With energy prices skyrocketing by the day, some people are faced with the decision to buy gas or groceries, and the fact that the upper corrupt crust on Capitol Hill sit in their own bubble, off-base with what the average American goes through is a glaring example of such dishonor. I think we need another uprising like the Vietnam War days, frankly. The Patriot Act needs to be abolished, and the government needs to stop worrying about stepping on people's toes and actually make decisions for the PEOPLE, not for the companies, CEO's, PAC's and other organizations that BRIBE them via contributions and perks.

The government has always been filled with corrupt leaders. No one has absolute power, therefore no ONE can make a singular decision. That's why we have congress and the senate and all those other bodies that battle one another over decisions. Our chance to show our anger is during election time. If they don't do the job the majority wants, then they are out. That's why it's so important that we vote. Ultimately, we have the best bunch of politicians money can buy.

You're correct. If, however, anyone thinks the corruption is just in the Republican party, or the president, you're a moron.

The corruption runs rampant through the Congress and the Senate, both sides equally.

Anyone who says this president is the most dishonest, worst president of all times is a delusional lying idiot. To yearn for Clinton...get real. He lied, wh0red out the White House, sold military secrets to the Chinese & N. Koreans, installed numberous activist judges, covered up crimes, paid off contributors with pardons. He trashed the economy, he had a growing economy handed to him, oversaw the increase brought by the internet boom, then wasted it. He left Bush with an economy headed downhill. Even with the attack, Bush's policies grew the economy stronger than before. At least Bush is willing to standup to terrorists, not appease them or do nothing like Clilnton...that's what brought 9/11.

Now we have democrates proving they're willing to trash the entire country just to win an election. It's painfully obvious you can't trust all Republicians but neither can you trust almost any democrat.

What certainly does l. a. Raza could do with this? Yemen would not border Mexico and Yemenis are not Latin individuals. So,that part of the question is basically stupid. As for something, al-Awlaki is an American citizen besides as Yemeni, notwithstanding the present administration placed out a needed, lifeless or alive order on him a at the same time as back. He did not basically happen very last week. that's presured the Yemeni authorities to head after him and different al-Qaida people there and truly, the Yemeni authorities ordered al-Awlawki to come back in to face terrorist expenditures, which not too extraordinarily, he refused to do. so, the Yemeni authorities has placed out its own lifeless or alive order besides, basically the different day. because the Yemeni authorities slightly controls tremendous chunks of its own territory and has a shaky carry at something, they couldn't in any respect capture as a lot as him, yet then, neither Bush nor Obama were waiting to nook Osama with some distance more effective aspects. time will tell, notwithstanding the Yemeni authorities has shoot outs with terrorists in various of aspects of Yemen on a known foundation, so that's unlike not something is happening.

The condition of this country is the ultimate argument for term limits . I agree with you . The Republican party is supportive of big business . So we need to take a page from corporate books . Time to fire them all and get new fresh ideas . The only answer is mass voting and that will send a message . The longer they are in the farther from the people they become .

I think our leaders are so spoiled by their power and money, that even 100,000,000 letters won't wake them up. They believe they are serving our best interests.

Thank God you and I know better. All they understand is losing their jobs. If most Americans agree with us, then we need to get rid of every politician in Washington and most state capitols, and replace them with people who have never been there or thought of being there.

Change all terms to 4 or 6 years, with no reelection possible. Get more people into government, and less people staying in government.

The same should be true for judges. Term limits are the only way to make sure people don't become institutional bureaucrats.

Yes, I think we have been lied to. Yes, I think the current administration does not have the interests of American citizens at heart.

Does that mean we give up? No way, when you hit the wall it's time to start climbing. Is this country still great? You bet it is! It's not always easy to be an American, people have struggled even died for her. There have been good times and bad times and yet we prevail and yearn for goodness and justice. Speak out, make your voice heard, act out if necessary, do your part, you are an American damnit!

It needs fixed, but who's gonna do it? I disagree with you about the war, that is a just and legal war. here are the facts as I see them.
Saddam got his *** kicked back in the 1st gulf war. period. In order for us to cease hostilities he signed a ceasefire agreement agreeing to do certain things and we signed saying that we'd remove an Uncle Sam sized boot from his *** if he complied. He did for a year or so, then once we left the area he broke his word and therefore the ceasfire agreement was no more. Now it took us awhile to get back there to remove him, but thats politics for you...time consuming.
I'm with you on the rest of it tho...pork spending is just rampant, and that's OUR TAX MONEY being wasted. It's bribery plain and simple too, "you help me get project X in my state and I'll vote for you to get $ for a bridge in Alaska that goes nowhere!!"
Also, since this is a representative democracy, why are there no poor people in congress?

Most of what you describe are problem instituted and proven to be problem by the democratic party and some republicans that cannot simply do what they are sent there for.
Democrats and their sycophants in the media are obsessed with Bush and they'd destroy the country to get him out and back in power.
This makes them very dangerous and not to be trusted with national security.

I feel that our political entities have become like Maddison and Wall. They serve, only to get the corporate parachute. So long as they stay in power, there will be no change in our policies or direction, regardless of party in office.
