I just bough a new ractive mt602B muffler and the intake hole is 2 and three-eighths in diameter. the exhaust tubing thats in the car right now is 2 and one-quarter. should i replace the tubing throughout the whole car to 2 and three-eighths or am i okay just widening the 2 and one-quarter inch tubing at the end?

Dude, they have adapter fittings at parts stores for just that. Cost you about $8. Then you need two exhaust clamps. One to clamp on to the original tube and one to clamp on to the new muphler. Piece of cake. OR do what i used to do and just run straight pipes all the way back.

For the 1/8th inch difference, welding the muffler on will close that gap.

Stay with what you've got.

Use an exhaust pipe expander on the pipe. They are available from most auto parts stores. Either for sale or rent.

Yes. But it will leak. You'll need some nifty ways to hold it on too.
