Luis! You are so smart! Maybe the heteros will think a little now that this has been asked. I would say one was BORN heterosexual....and all the heterosexuals will as well. They will also use GOD and tell you to read the bible - it's what they always say when they don't have an answer or can't explain anything - it's the old "cause the bible says's so" line - God forbid they ever use the brain GOD gave them. They will also use the "the human race will die out" line....as at this point the world has more people than it knows what to do with. Maybe homosexuality is a higher state of being maybe we are simply more enlightened than our heterosexual counterparts - what if that's the case...did I scare any heteros? I hope so.

Awesome question!

Your question could have been worded, "What contributes to a person's sexual orientation?" This is only my belief, but I base it on lots of reading and living and interacting with people: Sexual orientation is probably NOT the end result of just genetics or just our experience in life; it is a combination of those two variables. And I think that there are "critical periods" in a person's development that pushes him or her towards a straight, gay, or bisexual interest. Having said that, I suspect that bisexuality is actually the default sexual orientation and that perhaps most people are bisexual to some extent. I also think that most men, especially, if the the truth be known, fall within the bisexual range of sexuality; I've lived too long and heard and seen too much to believe otherwise. People might not always act on their sexual interests because of culture, religion, or how they were brought up, but most know "who" they really are but take that truth to the grave and do not discuss it with even the closest of friends. What causes heterosexuality? A healthy sexual outlook + a healthy sex drive + success socially/intimately with the opposite sex. At times, marriage "makes" a heterosexual, but that is only what society wants and sees.

Hey,your email is not confirmed.I tried to reply but it wouldnt let me.Anyway, thank you so much for making me smile today. To answer your question,it is my belief that a persons environment through growing up has alot to do with it.It is all normal of course. But I use myself as an example.I grew up in a very strict and heterosexual family setting. But in my own personal environment,I had my own likes and dislikes, and it was apparent early on that it differed from the norm of my household. So I kept it to myself. And I chose to maintain things in my private environment that catered to my likes.Much the same way a heterosexual boy will covet Playboy books,I coveted friends that liked to fool around when they would stay the night.I think if a person is exposed to sex at an early age it is too much to be processed, all of those new feelings tend to be overwhelming. And that can influence sexuality alot of times. And that goes for both sides of the fence. It is only INSTINCTIVE for a guy to mate with a female, not mandatory to survival. All that crap in the Bible came from fear of our species failing to perpetuate itself. That was logical back when there were few people on this planet. But now it is obsolete, and those zealots who call homosexuality an abomination are nothing more than mindless idiots. They follow something that is false. How abominable is THAT?Ha!Ha!Anyway, environment is my answer for the most part.Whatever happens in that personal environment is what shapes the person in my belief.TTYL

Ermm, I think this is a good question. I dont think that heterosexuality is strange, it is a part of human nature. You get people of different creeds/colours, so why not people of different sexualities? it makes the world an interesting place to live in.

Heterosexuality is apparently a choice that was made by the general population of the world. I'm sorry to say I was absent the day that choice was given.

It is a sick matter of choice...they don't read the bible, and if they do, they ignore all the warnings of such a life style. God's own son lived with 13 men in his adult life. He never married..you would think that would be a strong warning about "choosing" the wrong side of the fence, wouldn't you? But noooooooo. These scums think that they can live any life style they want, stay up all hours of the night drinking beer, ordering their wives about, soooo sinful and boring. They argue that it is a matter of genes...to them I say phoooey! They chose it, now they have to live it. Why, I have no idea!

For pure orientation, a combination of genes, chemical interactions in the womb, and random chance. As far as practice goes, societal pressures cause a lot, too.

Heterosexuality, is caused by the perfect conception of a man and a woman. When a man and a women have sex, they then concieve a child which is normal for any species. The normal production in having our species multiply are having Heterosexuals have sex together. If all the Heterosexuals would die out, then the human race would cease. We need Heterosexuals to keep the human race going. Same goes for the Animals . birds, fish or any other living species. The reason this question is not asked much is because why ask about something that is perfect ?

It's obviously a choice, since the natural inclination is to be gay. These people are freaks and perverts. And to the idiot who said gays have never been accepted by society - read your history book. In places like ancient Greece and Rome homosexuality was common and no one cared if you were gay, straight or bi. Too bad we can't go back to that open-minded era.
