I actually went to the mall yesterday and picked out some clothes for myself without taking my daughter along to be my fashion consultant (she is away for 2 weeks). I haven't shown it to my bf yet because I don't know if he'll like what I picked out on my own. He almost caught me trying it on last night when he came home earlier than expected but I managed to keep my little secret.

When he took me shopping for an outfit for his staff Christmas party he was critiqueing everything...basically it was the saleslady and him picking out what I would get...but he paid for it so that was okay with me.

You never know.
He may like it, he may not.
But most likly he'll critisize it, because that's him for ya.
But just make sure your happy in whatever you are wearing, it doesnt matter as much what your bf thinks because he's not the one wearing it!

My theory is wear what you are comfortable wearing. You may want to ask him the wedding colors or what type of wedding (casual, traditional, modern, etc) it will be or whether it will be outside....that sort of thing. That way you don't look out of place if you are too dressed up for a casual wedding or the other way around. But don't ever let him tell you what to do or wear...unless its a casual thing where he thinks you look particularly nice in an outfit. Show him, if he doesn't like it, tell him you do and you feel pretty in it.

The most important question is- Do YOU like your new outfit? If you bought it because you feel absolutely fabulous in it... then that is what matters. Why do you doubt your taste? You were dressing yourself before you had your daughter and before you got with your current boyfriend. Have a little more confidence in yourself.
You can definitely ask his opinion. But don't let his opinion dictate your choice. YOU bought this outfit, so if you love it, then wear it. He should respect your choice.

Is there any man who will actually tell a woman whether or not they like their outfit? You can ask for his opinion, but even if it's hideous, you know he'll say it looks fine. Maybe you can show a friend, neighbor, or another family member to see their advice.

the type of dress is unquestionably distinctly. in case you opt to circulate with the shirts you fiance picked out, i could do a lighter coloration of blue on the dress. i like the dark blue, yet i think of it does no longer mesh nicely. The lighter blue will mixture in greater proper. solid success.... you're on your thank you to a loooooong highway of compromising!!!!!

No, don't show him. Surprise him. A woman should always surprise her man. A man likes to be surprised and so wait. Get dressed up and then show him when its time to go. He will be checking you all the time.
