They did on the show "Myth Buster". They held a funnel upside down while in a bath tub and surrounded the bubbles. It was connected by tubing to a bottle with a on-off valve on top.

Yes. You can bottle methane. The "Mythbusters" did it using a container and a bath tub. Use your imagination.
I wonder if the smell would be diffrent after storing it for a year or so...hmmm

yes, you need to release the liquid in water or another lowed, and trap the bubbles in a vacuum container so that atmospheric air doesn't mix and dilute the "fart"
