It was about what I've come to expect from the bros: standard. The storyline was standard, the acting was standard, the characters were standard, the dialogue was standard, the direction was standard...it was really just a conventional film, with an uninteresting musical score, phony philosophical posturing, and political ideas and messages which have been simplified for mass viewing.

Has to be the most brilliant movie I have seen in years. As for the "political meaning" in the film, that's a tough one. It's based on a comic book series written nearly 20 years ago now, so the political basis for the original story is a bit off from the movie. It is a fair adaptation of the original source material, however to suppose that the movie's politics are something fresh is really a bit small minded of the viewer. In fact, the images in the film are taken almost directly from the original series, and thus it's politics are taken from there as well.
Using a series from 20 or so years ago, and translating it into a refletion of today's politics, while successful here, does not always work.

V was a great movie, filled with interesting subtle ideas and concepts that made the movie what is was. I saw the movie in theaters so I haven't seen the DVD extras. Hugo Weaving was fantastic for the role of V but I thought Natalie Portman was only so-so.

Loved it. And one need not have the DVD to understand the political meaning of the movie.

I rented it this WE and I loved it! (I didn't see the movie at the theatre)

As one of the participant said I expected it to be less good. I loved the atmosphere (a little of 1984, a little of the Dictator...)

The extras were good and interesting however a little repetitive from one to the other.

Another way to prove that Democracy is still the least of Tyranies

I actually really like the movie. I like both Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving and thought they both did a really good job with their characters. Plus, I'm always up for a good "F.U." to the system!
