go into labor alot earlier than those who are prego for the first time especially those with pregnancies close together because our muscles and ligaments are more relaxed i guess! has anyone else heard this?

I had four kids in six years and I never went into labor especially early. Once I went into labor, things seemed to progess more quickly in the later pregnancies.

You might have more round ligament pain. This is because one baby has already marked his path, and the subsequent ones will be more apt to sit closer on your pelvic bones. Gestational age of child at the onset of labor differs with every pregnancy, regardless of the number of births.

What'll be better this time around, is now you know how to push. Now you know what you liked about your stay in the hospital last time, and be sure to make sure you don't have those dislikes again.

But, continue to brush up on pregnancy knowledge. Read what to expect when you're expecting. Go to http://www.i-am-pregnant.com every week to see how your baby is growing. I'm currently pregnant with twins - my 6th & 7th...and there's no such thing as "old hat" when it comes to new life into this world.

No. Every pregnancy is different. My first child was born 2 days early and I was in labor 20 hours before I had to have an emergency c-section. 23 months later I had my second child, a day late and 12 hours of labor before an emergency c-section.

No, thats not true. What is true about a second pregnancy is that you will feel fetal movements earlier because of the lax mucles in the uterus. Also, you will feel more Braxton-Hicks contractions later in pregnancy, and second and subsequent labors are shorter and easier. Congrats!!

one more thing.....I had to be induced with my second labor but I went into labor on my own with all the others....lol

My second was 8 months old when I got pregnant again. I didn't go into labor early, in fact, i had a planned c-section at 39 weeks, and never went into labor.

Well my wife sure had a shorter labor with our second (22 mos apart). The first was a 12 hr ordeal and the second was over after just four pushes!

I've heard it, but I don't know how true it is. I have heard many with 1st pregnacies are always late. I know a few who went early. Everyone is different and every pregnancy is different so, it is really hard to say that all subsequent pregnancies go early.

never heard of that no, but my first two boys are only 14 months apart and if anything with them being so close the second pregnancy was much easier and smoother because i knew what to expect and knew how better to handle it.other than him (my 2nd child) being large-9lbs,6oz.- everything else was normal, sorry never heard of such a thing. if your concerned about it though just call your doctor or your local health dept. they should be able to ease some worries for you. good luck

There is 21 months between my first two children. My second pregnancy went over by 12 days!

I got pregnant with my second child when my first child was 18 months old. My first child was 3 weeks late...I know...I felt sorry for me too. My second child was 1 week early. They were both about 9lbs...I know ...I felt sorry for me too. With my second child my blood pressure was elevated and he was measuring 10lbs so they enduced me early. I don't know if it had anything to do with them being close in age or not. I think when it comes to babies and pregnancy anything goes...it cannot be predicted...but that being said I have heard that the second one is usually earlier.
