Did you read the play? Even see the move? The Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton version is *wonderful*. I think it's called Kiss me Kate. It's very funny and witty.
Kate learns to love her husband, she was a flaming high mantenence b***ch and he charmed and kindly dominated her to love and gentleness.

Go on line and read this short but direct and to the point version of the play. It provides you with several posible thesis statements that you can summarize and write about. I like the theme which implies that 'women can be tamed by food and clothes'. You can really go to town writing about this! Just think, can a man keep a woman out of the shopping malls? And if he buys her clothes and then cuts them all up - will he get a fight? or will she do what he wants? You got great material to work with - piece it together....

Well , the book is about a angry woman which she is the shrew. I believe that the woman had a angry problem from a bunch of men and women also. bothering her at her most frustrating time that she had no absolute choice but to take her anger out on anyone who set her off. which is why all these people whome she yelled at wanted to tame her anger into love not hate. my statement would be why should she be told to love and not hate we all have anger yet most of us no how to control it. hope this helps.

Even though I haven't read the play (someone told me about "the taming of the shrew"), try this one: Why did Shakespeare decide that the female mind is less intelligent than the male mind?

***I read "Romeo and Juliet", and it turns out that Juliet is much more calm and rational that Romeo who panics a lot and blames on faith. If you haven't read "Romeo and Juliet", read it.

why don't you concentrate on whether or not this particular work could be considered misogynistic in today's society? is it just funny or is it insulting? is katherine really a shrew because she doesn't want to be owned by a man? or write about if you think katherine truly loves petruccio in the end - or did he just torture her into submission? good luck - hope you enjoyed it!
