I've tried reading the book and didn't get very far. Is the play better?

I LOOOOOOVVVVEEEEEE wicked. it is a masterpiece in all senses of the word. Like most things, the book varies in major major ways from the play, but i appreciate both for what they are. The play is just a toned down version onf the book. The problem with the book is it tends to drag a litte. The play itself is very different from anything ive seen, and the cast that i saw (idina and kristin) was phenomenal. i would highly recomend seeing the play if you ever get the chance.

The play is much better than the book. You're right about that book! It's so descriptive, the plot moves at a snail's pace. Whereas the musical is really gorgeous, including hilarious songs and fancy lights. Is it near you? Go see it!

The musical is 10 times better than the book. The musical also has a "happy" ending. I bet you'll love the music too. Go see it. Also, there are tons of clips on youtube.
