It would probably be cheaper and better in the long run to just sell your existing truck and buy a 4 wheel drive one. Unless you have an older truck and can go to a scrap yard to buy the necessary parts to convert it to 4 wheel drive and you have the mechanical ability to do it.

its not practical but there are kits you can buy or you can find one in a salvage yard and remove all the necessary parts but if you have no idea where to start, dont do it, there are angles that have to be correct, leaf spring mounts and such, this is also assuming its an older pickup, and you want to go with a solid front axle because installing a new style would cost money.

sell and get a 4wd - i have a 1990 Mazda b2200 and i cracked the frame on a logging road. save yourself the headace!

No way. It would be much easier and cheaper to buy a 4x4.
