Liquid explosives...

According to the news reports, there was a plot to blow up an airline traveling from England to the USA. The terrorists had planned to use liquid explosives and some type of electrical device to ignite the explosives.

Thank goodness the coordinated efforts of Scotland Yard and US intelligence agencies were able to figure it out before it happened.

The only liquids allowed are medicines & baby formula. You couldn't hide a bomb in a bottle of water but there are liquid explosives.

Actually, many explosives come in a liquid form. The explosives that were going to be used in this attack were in liquid form. Before long you will be able to bring liquids on flights again. This is just a knee jerk reaction to the threat. Processes will be put in place soon that will be able to better screen for liquid explosives.

Dude, terrorist are smarter than what you think. Don't make the mistake of under-estimating them. Certain chemicals in their liquid form can be combined to cause poisonous gases. Also explosives can come in a paste form. Remember you are in a small, pressured environment... a small explosion in the right location is sufficient to bring a plane down.

Liquids are being banned from being taken on in carry-on luggage. The bombs are being made from a liquid, I don't know the name, that is then mixed with a gel substance and then detonated using instruments like cell-phones and i-pods. This I learned on CNN earlier today.

Because the liquid could be an explosive and if it is in a sealed container this could cause quite a bit of damage.

Obviously, you aren't that smart if you believe that mixing chemical "A" with chemical "B" couldn't have an explosive effect. I have heard many explosive exprts talking on the radio today, and yeah, it is very possible. Get your head out of your butt Dude.

No but you can take two liquid chemicals that are perfectly safe when separate. Put them in shampoo bottles and then combine them and they would be explosive.
