Yes, I have had to as well. If that is what he has requested that you do, then you need to go ahead and go then. There is a reason for it.
But do let him know that you are concerned and feel awkward. I am sure he will put you at ease. Ask questions to find out the reasoning behind this during flow visit. The more you know, the more comfortable you will be in what is going on.
Good luck to you!

Yes. They usually give you a pad to sit on to avoid a lot of mess. I agree, it IS embarrassing, but I would rather find out if I had an ovarian cyst than forgo seeing the doctor because I was embarrassed. If you think THAT'S bad, did you realize that when you have a baby and it is time to push, that you have a bowel movement?

Try to make yourself feel better by taking a look around the waiting room at the gynos office. Lots of nasty looking women that you know must smell really bad downunder. Think to yourself he/she (the DR) will not remember me after seeing and smelling her (The one sitting next to you). Good Luck to you.

Yeah I had to go once while on my period. It's not really as embarrassing as you might think. I mean you aren't the only one who has ever had to do it.

It will not be awkward, doctors see this all the time.
Don't feel embarrased or scared, it is their job and you have nothing to worry about.
Good luck!!!
