With all the remakes these days I can't help but remember the good ol' originals'. One that sticks out is Hardcastle and McCormack. I don't remember too much about the show (the car!) as I was very young, but would like to hear from anyone with details!

"Hardcastle and McCormick" [TV-Series 1983-1986]

A retired judge and his last defendent follow up on cases that where dismissed due to technicalities.

Brian Keith .... Judge Milton C. Hardcastle (1983-1986)
Daniel Hugh Kelly.... Mark "Skid" McCormick (1983-1986)
Mary Jackson.... Sarah Wicks (1983)
John Hancock.... Lt. Michael Delaney (1984-1985)
Joe Santos.... Lt. Frank Harper (1985-1986)

Runtime: 60 min (67 episodes)

Originally the concept was to have Hardcastle to hunt down all the criminals he prosecuted but were released due to technicalities. In order to keep the A.C.L.U. off of their backs, the producers decided to compromise and have him go after them for current offenses only.

Starred Brian Keith and Hugh Michael Kelly (I think that was his name) Keith was a judge (Hardcastle) who came up with innovative sentences. His last case involved McCormack who had been arrested for stealing his own car. (He broke into some warehouse or something where his car was being stored to get it back). The judge made McCormack work as his groundskeeper. However, they alway somehow ended up fighting crime. I think the car was a Lambourghini Kuntach (sp?) But don't quote me.

I remember the show, especially the theme song, "Drive" (which I believe replaced another song), and the terrific pairing of actors Brian Keith and Daniel Hugh Kelly. I also remember some controversy over the premise. A retired judge hunts down all the criminals he prosecuted but had to release on technicalities. I watched it, but it wasn't a favorite show.
